> How to answer a company mobile?
Bookmark topic
So what do you guy’s think the correct way/etiquette is to answer a company mobile? I have just been given one, some rubbish Nokia but it’s free. But I need to know how I should answer it? As the person phoning must know that they are calling me and want to talk to me, but if I don’t know who is calling what should I say. Doesn’t seem right just saying “hello” but also seems odd saying “hello, company name, how can I help” ect ect.
So what do you say?

How about 'Hello (company name), (your name) speaking?'

I just say:
Hello (name) speaking...
Seems to work except sometimes i get - yeah i know i am calling you...i know who it is
Guess it depends if it will be used only for work or not

rid of p.i.t.a. marketing/sales calls

as a customer? i would just like to hear, hi, (name speaking), but i would personally use, "hi (business), (name) speaking", maybe a "how can i help you?"

to answer a phone i generally press the send key. normally denoted on modern phones by a green handset...
ought to do the trick
edit: and yes i know sarcasm is the lowest form of wit, i however think its the funniest by a long way.

I always answer my (mobile) phone stating my name.
Even though the caller hopefully and normally knows who he/she is calling, he/she might accidentally dial the wrong number, at least if he/she for any reason does not use the builtin phonebook.
If you answer your (mobile) phone stating your name the caller will immediately be aware of any mistake.
