Hi, new to forums here
Ok, I live in the US and use T-mobile with a k800i. This means I can't use UMTS since the US frequencies differ from Europe and Asia not to mention UMTS is not fully offered here...so I can't undate my phone from within the phone itself.
I downloaded the latest update and installed the SE PC suite. The phone connects to it no problem. I can run the software and get to the point where it states I need to remove it from the USB port, turn off, remove battery and sim card, replace battery, power up and hold C.
When it boots up I get a message that there is no sim card. Holding the C key does nothing. I have tried it holding the key as soon as I turn it on and after it boots, same result. It seems like there is a simple step I'm not doing correctly.

Sounds like the old problem of one of your phone drivers is missing, couldn't tell you which one but try installing them all off the cd or the SE site and that should solve ur predicament.
S
Oh and also the usb drivers too.

yeah, I think you are right. There was one driver that didn't work from either the cd or the latest version from the SE download site. I didn't think anything of it since it recognized the phone and everything seemed to work.
I really wish they came up with driver and software that worked with 64bit version of XP. I tried MyPHoneExpoler but it doesn't work in xp64 unless I get the drivers to work as well.

ok, that didn't work. I installed all the drivers on a new pc and all of them loaded properly. I follow the exact steps but they are vague.
Once I remove the sim and install the battery, I hold C and plug in the USB.
I either get 'no sim installed' or or the update software keeps give me the same instructions to remove battery, remove sim, etc...
can someone post the exact instructions or let me know what is wrong?
I would like to know if you just plug in the usb while holding C, or do you power on, hold C and plug it in. I have tried it every way possible but nothing works.

With the phone turned off, press and hold the c button and then plug in the usb lead. Keep holding the c key until the program tells you release it.

when I do that the new hardware wizard pops up asking for a driver for the flash device. I pointed it to the SE folder in program files and it appeared to work.
thanks
edit:when I check the version it is R1CB001 which I think is the latest update
