I got my m600i today, it's all good apart from the expectedly awful Vodafone branded firmware (why anyone thought ruining the aesthetics and functionality of the device they deliver their service on is a good business pratices is beyond me) which I of course will be flashing to the generic SE firmware when the option becomes available.
So, to my question: I've sent a few text messages to people and as expected those names are available in what I'm calling the 'recent contacts list' which pops up when you click on 'to:' in the sms creation screen. How do I erase this list?
Yes I really am that paranoid, and it's really bugging me them being there. I doubt I will sleep tonight.
I could delete them fine on my k700i...someone...help?
Thanks.

@poorpoorboy, funny that I sent a few messages today and I don't have a recent contacts list - but I did restart the phone about 20 minutes ago so perhaps...why not try to switch off/on your M600 and see what happens

My contact list still appears there after the phone restarts, have not found a way to delete them either yet...

when the list appears if you move the mark on the certain recent contact and hold and press delete 'c' will it remove it ? i.e. one by one

I believe the recent call list may mantained by the SIM card, not the phone.

@darky
That still does not work...
@_LAU_
Is not to do with the SIM, definetly a software thing

It does appear to be a software thing.
If I use scroll will to select new sms, scroll down to To and push scroll wheel a list of last sms names show, or group.
I would love to clean it.

like Jah, I don't seem to have this feature and I just sent a text message a few minutes ago
did you have to enable something somewhere to get this behaviour of prompting with recent contacts?

It's good to see I'm not the only person who's noticed and been annoyed by this bug. Quick question:
Those who DO have the recent contact list - are you on Vodafone too?
Perhaps it's just an idiosyncrasy of the Vodafone software.
I've try a few things to delete the contacts without sucess:
1. Highlight the contact, then press and hold amost every damn button on the phone.
2. Turn phone off, remove battery and sim, replace and turn back on.
3. Generally yelling "ERASE, DAMMIT ERASE"
Anyone got any better ideas?
