Gonna get the Sharp GX10 this friday. The resolution is good but its a bit bulky. Its based on a j-phone phone in Japan. But converted to GSM.

Its based on the Sharp J-SH07, a 16 month old J-phone (not i-mode) model. Where are you getting it this Friday, a Vodafone Store?
It will be my next handset as well, as long as Voda can deliver an upgrade to me and my girlfriend at the right price.
BTW, There is another link about Sharp GX10 in this forum.

It's not that bulky 107g, 48x26x94mm. Especially as it's got a 120x160pixel screen the size of the Nokia 7650's - but with 65,535 colours and a built-in camera.
You'll only be able to buy from a Vodafone shop (exclusive deal with Sharp) and it will cost £199 (although you can spread the cost over 10 months interest free). On PAYG it will be £349!

I got mine in Uxbridge. The price is GBP199. (Contract)
Its smaller/better then the 7650
I also got me a Panasonic GD87 at the same time.
Gonna sell the panasonic though. The Sharp is better!!

I picked up a GX-10 on Friday. I'm not fully set up yet as I'm porting my number from Orange, so I'm using an old Voda PAYG SIM at the moment (don't have GPRS, MMS, etc.) until this Friday when the port happens.
However, v.impressed with the phone so far. The dimensions are not so bad. Apart from the thickness it's only slightly larger than a t68i. Menus are FAST, camera is pretty good, screen is excellent. The games are also excellent, particularly the Java shoot-em up. The vodaphone live service seems nice, although I'm basing this on my limited experience in the shop since I'm still lacking GPRS. The general facilities you would expect are all there - decent phone book, alarms, calendar, vibrate, profiles. The menu system is easy to use and very similar to Nokia (inc. shortcuts). Battery life seems fair, I've had two days from full to emply although there was some intensive gaming and photo taking in those 2 days! (in my experience it takes a couple of empty/full/empy cycles before the battery gets to full capacity anyway).
Don't think I'll really miss bluetooth as much as I thought, since a data cable is available and the phone has infrared (and I haven't got any BT accessories of course!)
What does it have that the GD87 doesn't. The main thing is the Java games. The Pana uses some non-standard Java implementation apparently and you won't be able to download the games from the vodafone live portal (or anywhere else if it's not MIDP compliant). I also prefer the Nokia-copy menus and the smaller dimensions of the GX-10 (excluding thickness

)

One thing for people who think the SX-10 is too big, i tried a T300 in the voda shop and it felt about the same size. Sharp/Panasonic have managed to get a much bigger display (with more colours), camera and more memory into the same sized phone as

!!!

I just sent back the GD87 and sticking with the GX10.
Its such a great mobile!! Luv it!
Voda Live! services are really expensive though
A java game costs GBP5.00 and a polytone costs GBP2.5
Anyone know where I else I can get them (free preferably)
Polytones I can input but any sites around?
