hi and thanks for reading.
I have an up to date m600i.
Small business server running exchange with sp2.
I am using a Startcom certificate.
OWA etc works fine on a remote XP machine.
My m600i will not sync and I have the most up to date version of Dataviz activesync.
I am wondering if i need to purchase a Thwate certificate!!! Does anyone have this setup working without a Thwate cert?
Any pointers?
(how do you get https sites on m600i - when i type a new web address it always adds http)

I have a working setup where I use the certificate that can be created with Windows 2003 Server (Small business edition) during the install process. The only problem is that the M600 does not trust this certificate so I have to confirm the certificate every time I sync. In push mode, I only have to confirm once and then it works fine, but I seldom use Push.
So I think you need to check your settings, because it will work with any certificate if your setup is OK.

thank you for posting - its good to know I am not wasting my time.
please can you confirm that you have the most up to date software on your m600i - i have read that the older software did work with self generated certs. did you update your phone?
if you have the newest software - in the setup of activesync on the m600i:
1. username: just the username NOT domain/username?
2. password: just the users password?
3. server name: mail.domain.com ?
4. domain: just domain or domain.local?
5. use SSL: tick or no tick?
sorry for basic questions - i have been working on this alot and i think i have the certificate working and I am now doubting my settings on the phone (or the sbs server BUT owa works so i think its the phone)
THANKS ALOT!
