> rollback the player on w810i!

hi there,
i got a w810i and i'm incredibly disapointed by the player! my old faithful w800i when scrolling to "artists" was seeing the folder structure as artists, while w810i searched for artists...so basically if you have a compilation la buddhabar or mtv-unplugged pretty much the only option to listen to it is to make a playlist....and as we know the playlists are such pain in the a^^ to make....hate this improvement!
is any way i coould have the player from w800i on w810i?!

The player in w810 is good , .. hmm it's like you want an WINAMP on you're fone .. No matter the brand it is , walkman or not , IS A FONE GOD DAMN, soo enjoy it as it is . It's the best you can do.

dorin: why that is so is because the w810 (and later firmware revisions on the w800, at least that's what i thought. apparently not..) reads the metadata on the tracks themselves, and not via the physical folder structure. i actually like it better that way
the improvements i'd like to see is (1) scrolling of the track title within the
player when it doesnt fit in one line. if they can do it in the status bar when the player is minimized, i have no idea why they won't implement it in the now playing screen, and (2) actually utilizing the track# tag in the MP3/M4A file and not sorting it by name (3) when playlists are sorted by either track name, date created, etc etc, it would stay that way. it's quite useless sorting it during playback, then when you exit and go back the playlist's sorted as created again. irking.

just rename the tracks..
open up ur phone card in My Computer
and find the tracks
then click on each one, and click Properties
then do something like this
Artist: Various
Album: MTV Unplugged
Track: Nirvana - The Man Who Sold The World
that way, it'll show the whole album in ONE artist, called "various"
takes about 5-10 min but its worth it..

I'm slightly confused... Right you want to listen to compliation albums? My compliation albums are put in a set folder and when i go into the walkman area, i click on all artist then every album apears, which allows me to listen to the particular compliation album... Does that help at all?

Basicly Go on artist, then on all... then every album appears.. Then choose the compilation album

ok i managed in the end with tag&rename, nice program which edits the tag in masses.
so the problem is pretty simple. let's say i want to listen to buddhabar, or any kind of compilation, or to have a folder with music for morning, or driving or bla bla.
with w800 i was outting them in a folder with the name wanted the playlist to be called and voilla.
with w810i if i put for example a song from iron maiden and one from helloween i will get 2 artists in menu, with w800 i was getting only one, called rock.
got it now?
anyway long live tag&rename!
