Hi guys,

Bit of a noob here.
I am currently using the SEUS (trying for the 2nd time to update my phone) to update my Vodafone Branded M600i. Although I am a bit worried as the same prolem keeps happening:

The SEUS screen says "Please wait. Downloading phone software." and my M600i is currently plugged into USB but is powered off. This has happened once before earlier. Is it possible just that the content is taking a while to download (internet speed is crap. Taking 20mins to download a 5Mb file)? Or has it stalled or whatever? The last time this happened I just pulled the USB out my phone and it was working fine (but not updated).

What I am interested in is updating my phone and maybe unbranding it. Is there any advantages to unbranding my phone? Where can I do this?

Thanks a lot.
Lawrence

@larry_craig, the application first downloads the firmware, it then applies this to the phone. The size of the download is approx 40mb so it's going to take a while to download on your connection.

hi there. i have a better connection now but it is still not working (in a different area now). I connect my phone the software detects it etc. I go to upgrade and it comes up with "Upgrading firmware. do not touch phone" but that lasts for ~1 second and then it goes right back to the beginning with no notice of completion. is this a problem with the software you think? i only downloaded yesterday.

thanks,
larry

@larry_craig

go to program files>sony ericsson>update service>db>13740270>blob_fs and delete the firmware files with todays date, this will force SEUS to download new firmware files for you M600

thanks for the help. im not getting a new problem.

everything goes fine up untill it starts to download the firmware for the phone. i keep getting an error saying: "Update Failed. Please restart and try again." it is happening everytime. I have tried reinstalling the software serveral times. i have also tried removing all traces from my computer of the software, downloading of the SE website and then reinstalling again but still no luck. Anyone got any idea how to fix this?

Is it a Vodafone branded handset? if it is there is a high chance that good old Voda have blocked the update service (SEUS) on your branded handset.

Check with Voda Cust Service and see if the are currently supporting SEUS on the M600.
