hi all,

was told about this forum by a friend so thought would give a shout with my problem.

my girlfriend has just got a k8ooi. relativey happy with the phone apart from this one bizarre problem......

it seems to recognise all contacts in her phone memory APART FROM MINE well it does mine but only if my number is on the sim memory. if on the phone memory my number but not my name comes up. she would however prefer it on the phone so she can assign a pic and ringtone for when i call her (you can only do this from phone memory)

i myself have an Orange SPV c550. been on to Orange support people and they are none the wiser. i thought it may of been a handset thing, but a friend of mine who also has the SPV c550 rang her mobile with his details stored in phone memory and his name and number came up. at this point i though i give up.

therefore i am hoping someone on here knows the solution. it's doing my nut in now.

cheers folks!

edit : forgot to add that i did the master reset thing as mentioned on some other posts and that has not fixed it.

yesterday my friend was called by a customer, even her nr isnt stored in his k800. weird is, that a nr of another customer was displayed, a total other customer was on the fone... then he checked the incoming nrs, and the one was shown as missed nr, even, as mentioned before, she isnt in his fonebook ( not even on the sim )...

I never had mismatched names/numbers before in my K800i. Had that problem in my K750i with earlier firmwares, but was solved with subsequent firmware upgrades.

Try copyin the number to the phone memory and then deleting it from the sim memory-this used to sort the same problem out on Motorolas i've had in the past! This message was posted from a WAP device

I solved this problem for my girlfriends phone by selecting 'Auto save on SIM'.

>Contacts > More > Options > Advanced > Auto save on SIM > ON

Maybe it will work for you? Let me know....
