Virus or dodgy phone?
The weirdest thing happened to me today. I was sitting at work minding my own business when suddenly my colleague sitting next to me, receives 6 text messages within two minutes. These text messages came from ME! However, I did not send them as i was busy working on my PC.
Anyway, so now there's a bit of confusion as to what's going on, so I got on the blower and called O2. They listened to me as I explained what has happened so they took the number ofthe other dude, his network and make of phone details.
So now I'm on hold listening to that annoying O2 theme tune while this bird chats to the "Network" people. Accorning to them, I my phone has sent only 4 text messages, so I said, no, it was six, and they are all blank messages still in my sent box. The other dude still had those six in his inbox as he has not yet deleted them.
Now they wanted me to put my SIM in another phone, so I said that it was not possible as I'm the only one using O2 (the other two dudes in my office uses Vodafone), so we made an arrangement. I will put my sim in my OLD K750 first thing in the morning and then they'll call me back at 2pm. Apparently they want to test if the sim's at fault or the phone itself.
The phone in question is a K800 which I got not even a month ago. The phone was in my pocket during this incident and the keypad was locked. My colleague that got these text messages is the first entry in my address book, seeing as his name begins with an 'A'.
...or is it a matter of "Welcome to the Twilight Zone"?

I don't think so, if it was a network glitch they wouldn't be in his sent-box.

Well, it has baffled me all day long. I thought maybe the buttons got pressed due to movement, but the thing is, I was sitting down at my desk. When I took the phone out of my pocket (tousers, right, front) the keylock was on. After I checked my inbox, I tried all the motions of keypresses needed to send a text message. Keep in mind, when you send a text message, a history is kept of all the persons you sent to, however, the first entry is Contacts look-up.
To start; We'll assume the (1) joystick had to be pushed to the left to get to 'Write New' with Text message highlited, then either (2a) the select putton needs to be pused, or the (2b) joystick needs to be pressed in. None of the other buttons on the keypad does anything apart from 1, 2, 3 or 4 which would open, text, picture message, voice rec, or email. (3) now we are in the blank text message field where you write your message. To go to the next stage of number lookup you have to either (4a) press the continue button, or (4b) press the joystick.
Now you are on the contacts lookup screen. I have never sent this guy a text before so his name is not on the history, on this screen, thus the Contact lookup option needs to be selected, to do that it is the same again; either (5a) press the continue button, or (5b) press the joystick. Now only is his name highlighted. To go to the next stake, you have to press either of the previous mentioned buttons again (steps 6a/b)
Now only are you ready to send using the same two options again (7a/b) and thus you have sent a blank text message. Now do this six times in two minutes (the timestamp on the first and last message is 15:16 and 15:18)
Even with the keylock off with the phone in my pocket, it is not possible to happen, besides, I was sitting still, with my legs.
How do you explain this whole issue in such a way that it makes sense or understandable?
This really troubles me a lot as I keep on thinking about it as I want to know how it happened. Who do I start to distrust - SE or O2? Also, bluetooth was not turned on, so nobody could have bluejacked me, besides I work in a server room of just under 500 servers, so there is no other people close enough either...

My SE 700i last week sent out hundreds of texts to recipient 'A' with 'no subject' and no message! The result was that my £10 top-up credit went in a day when it usually lasts a month. The first thing I knew about this is when
I received a text saying that there was insufficient funds in my account to send a text!!!
I'm with Virgin and Bluetooth is on and I'd like to find out what is going on.

I though viruses only affect open ended OS like symbian, and not SE.
