> Text input speed on M600
Bookmark topic
Just wondering if anyone could tell me how fast text input is on the M600 using the qwerty keypad?
Is it faster than a normal phone keypad with T9?
Does the email client support predictive text?
Thanks

I have found it to be reasonably fast, although it may depend on the size of your fingers
I Find it faster than T9, but not as fast as my previous E61 Nokia (but it fits in my pocket much better
Yes the em client does support predictive text.

The cool thing is you have an additional T9 like completion as well, so you are even faster ...

kiwiandy do you find it a better phone than E61? I was considering getting the E70 due to hopeing the gullwing design would mean i could reply to emails quickly.
I do have a P910i but never use it, its just too big to fit in my pocket. Which is a shame because the keypad was great and quick (shame about the pointless qwerty keyboard inside!)
turbulence, whats this "additional T9 like completion"? do you mean predictive text?

Coming from a Blackberry 7290-->Blackberry 7105 (predictive text)-->Nokia E61-->M600i
Obviously, the more you use a phone's writing capabilities, the easer it becomes. On my 7105, I loved the predictive text (eventually). On my E61, I didn't initially like the 'rubber' feeling of the keys but the more I used it, the more I appreciated the amount of resistance and response from the keys. Now, on my M600i, I miss the resistance but find the predictive text to speed up typing significantly.
Ultimately, any phone you use will take time to adjust and increase your typing speed. I do have to admit, with regards to form factor (and the ability to put a phone neatly into your pocket), the M600i is by far the clear winner.

yes i agree the keys on the E61 take some getting used to, as do the keys on the M600,.. however the E61 just felt too big, and was allways uncomfortable in my pocket.
I still have problems with hitting the wrong key on the m600, but agree that the prdictive text more than compensates for the delays caused by fat fingers

i can type about 10 times faster on the m600i than a traditional T9. Ofcourse I was never any good at T9 unlike some folks I see.
I am guessing I can do 30wpm on the m600 keyboard
