Nokia's high-end Vertu brand, which makes phones out of materials like gold, platinum and diamonds, has seen so much demand that they are struggling to keep up.
The phones may be increidbly expensive, but sales will double this year and the company anticipates that that pace of growth will continue. To make it even tougher to keep up, the unit is unveiling a new phone next month which they expect to be a hot seller.
While analysts expect Nokia to sell about 330 million phones this year at an average of around 100 euros ($129) apiece, Vertu sells "tens of thousands" of phones at prices topping 4,000 euros.

Well Vertu is the best brand for all those wanting nothing but a luxurious phone. What else is there at the moment? The other horrible copycats? No thankyou.

I know its not much but they could have at least made the aesthetics a bit more appealing on these wallet damaging phones.

I have a vertu got it in 2004 and also got it upgraded in march this year. Its great and the software has no problems in it at all.It may not have everything in there but what ever it has works like a breeze.
I really like it though

Well that's the appeal. A simple mobile phone which makes phone calls and SMSs, and has a stable UI. All encased in a luxurious body.

i'm going to sounds like a right stuck up tw@ at here buy here goes..
i don't see the point in buying an Ascent Vertu.. retail value of say £2000... thats not overlly expensive for a "exclusive" product.. if i ever get a vertu it will be a signature one..
