As far as India is concerned, I talked to the Sonyericsson dealer today, who says the 990 will be officially released earliest by Monday (21st August). I find that Sonyericsson usually release their products worldwide in a somewhat staggered way.
What's the position in other countries?

I was of the impression that the P990 was released in denmark, but the phone i received from my "phonepusher" came with a swedish/finnish manual so i guess it was not one of the "original danish" phones?...

Been released in UK as well but im positive that the first batches are actually swedish phones or EU stock and not UK spec phones as expansys and other stores would have us to believe. Plus expansys a few weeks ago mentioned that their first batches would be pre-launch units, which to this day they havent clarified.
As far as i know my p990i, which came from expansys doesnt support push email ie blackberry out of the box but have been informed that an update would be available soon.

The P990i I got from Expansys is most definitely not an HK model. It is an EU model, and more specifically I think it is actually a Finnish model, judging by the code "fi" on the side of the box.

@SL33PYH34D
Yes, On my box I too have FI, SV (Finland, Sweden). I also bought it from Expansys..I have been tryingto update the firmware, but I am having second thoughts (after what is being reported), as I have a very stable example.
I just feel really sorry for the people that have problems at the moment, and can not enjoy their phones..
