Hi guys n girls,

I'm currently in the market for a decent graphics card for high-end gaming and such like. I was looking a the ATI X1900XT as a possibility, but also maybe an Nvidia 7800GT, any ideas. I'm looking at games like BF2, Oblivion, Quake 4, etc

Cheers

take the x1900xtx if you want the best to play nice games. I have an x800xt and that works wonders for bf2.

Whats the cheapest price you've seen for the X1900XT?

Is also worth checking out the Nvidia 7800 series or 7900? I can't go to crazy with costs, so unless I can get seriously good price onan X1900.....

GeCube Radeon X1900XTX CrossFire 512MB GDDR3 / PCI-E / 2xDVI / TV-OUT / VIVO

Goes at 3695kr -> 272.73£
That is the cheapest one they have. Note that it is the xtx not xt, is much better. This one can also be connected to another one through crossfire.

EDIT: the above is in sweden. here is for uk:

I was thinking of keeping around £220-230 at max, so the XT will be fine. Don't suppose you would know what sort of power supply I should be looking at?

@deepsme

Thanks for that dude, thats very useful!

Based on that I think that a Radeon X1800XT is probably enough for me.
I'm currently running an Nvidia 6200TC, nice to see where my card came.....LAST!!! lol

The X1800XT is a decent card I guess and I can get it for £160.

Any thoughts on the card?

I'm running an x1800xt with a 450w PSU, no problems at all. Runs COD2, Micrsoft flight sim etc. very well indeed

I bought the X1900Xt a few months back and I'm glad I did. It's more expensive but you won't need to worry about replacing it for at least 18 months!

Geforce are very good but I'm more impressed by the ATI chipsets especially if its an AMD 64 system.

I've got a P4 HT 3.2GHz, 1Gb RAM so thats my system and like I said, an Nvidia 6200TC

Unfortunatly, I can't really afford an X1900XT...
According to the above website, an X1800XT runs comparitively with a 7900GT which is much more expensive.

Jus one more thing, my room-mate has a 6800 in his PC, and we kinda have this thing going, that one of us has to have a btter PC, so I'm guessing the X1800 will smoke his card?

Its immature I know, sorry
