> Formatting a P910i
Bookmark topic
Following my previous post, I got rid of the email account and so far no more internet pop-up things (touch wood!). But I'm starting to consider what prart said (format the phone

).
Has anybody done this before? Does this wipe off everthing off your hard disk? Does it restore it back to it's orginal state? Most importantly, does it re-lock the network?
Once again, thanks in advance for any posts that helps!

yeah, formating from service menu
http://my-symbian.com/uiq/faq/showquestion.php?faq=3&fldAuto=4 (NOT master reset from control panel! thats HUGE difference) will erase everything (calendar&jotter entries, contacts, messages, todo - EVERYTHING)! so it`s a good chance to upgrade your firmware (the newest for unbranded p910i is R5B01 - on my unit is rock solid) with SEUS. follow this guide to back up your data
http://my-symbian.com/uiq/faq/showquestion.php?fldAuto=17&faq=3 , and whole procedure (format->update->format again to get rid of preinstaled stuff) is safe, fast and will cure all your problems with your p910i. good luck

Thanks for the replies!
I already have the latest firmware, so last chance is formatting the hard disk.
Does formatting the phone put the network lock on the phone? I have 02 with a orange phone, and I can't afford to have it go back to orange!
When I updated the firmware, it went back to orange, not accepting any sim cards from any other network!
Thanks for any replies!

formatting won`t bring sim-lock back, for sure.
