There is already a thread about this and no it does not work. It works on the P990. This is not necessarily a bug but a non-implemented performance feature. Maybe it will in the next software upgrade.
Next time use the search feature please.

aiight calm down,
and I don't think its a "performance feature", U either support the profile properly or you don't.
What they did is such a windows mobile thing to have done.

As I said, it works on another SE model phone, but this does not mean it is supported on the k800i. Maybe SE will choose to install this feature if it is possible to make it work with the k800i. The P990 is Symbian and a bit more robust than the normal cell phone OS.

Oh come on, the phone could totally do it no problem, if it can get caller ID there its just as easy to get a title there...

And just why are you so sure of this? Where has it been mentioned that it will do this with the k800i? Maybe you have a special insight into the inner workings of SE. If you know something that we/they do not know, please share it with us and if it is that easy then maybe you would be so kind as to whip up a bit of code and post it to the Waton or DaVinci servers.

I'd love too!
I would have no problems modifying existing code, should it be readily available, so if it is, how come people aren't posting their own firmware versions with expanded sets of features?

I suggest you contact Davinci or Wantan about their servers and update services and see if they would let you modify the code. Bear in mind that when you hose up your phone, you immediately void the warrantee and are subject to all repair costs involved.

Neither Wotan nor Davinci have the source code for the firmwares. What they do have is the complied package... which is machine code and unless ur very good wit ur ones and zeros u have a very slim chance of translating it to a higher level language let alone trying to modify it...
