> USB cable different K750i vs K800i
Bookmark topic
Hi, I just got my new K800i. I have noticed the USB cable is different to that of my K750i. The new K800i usb cable only has 4 gold prongs on the end that plugs into the bottom of the K800i phone. My K750i USB cable has the full set of 12 gold prongs to match up with the bottom of the K750i.
Is my K800i USB cable the wrong one? Or does it not need the extra prongs? I am going to sell my K750i so don't want to sell a better USB cable ie is it better to keep my K750i USB cable?
cheers

Can you update your phone via SEUS using your 4 pin usb cable?

you may also have noticed that u cant charge the phone over usb like u could with the k750,so my theory is(its probably fact) that the missing prongs are the ones that supply power via usb to the phone.

The w810 couldn't charge either with its original firmware; with the recent firmware you can recharge even with the 4-prong cable...

Actually on the K800/K790 you can adjust whether you want the phone to charge via USB or not. Just go into the service menu and select service settings. Then select if you want it or not.

only

knows why the first batch of these came with a complete set of prongs; on the new CST-something chargers, the prongs are also complete because the plug works as a passthrough for other fastport devices you'll plug into the other end
those who have only 4 prongs, take comfort in the fact that's all your PC needs to charge/synchronize/update firmware via PC
