Why do Sony Ericsson do this? Why? It's always the same old story.
1. SE release a new phone, it's incredibly popular
2. Said new phone uses new Sony proprietory storage
3. Said storage is like rocking horse crap
I went through this with my P800 / P900 with the MS Duos. Yet a few years on and it's still the same damned problem. Trying to get a 1gb M2 from anywhere but Ebay is impossible.
Why do they do this? The M2's are the size of a small fingernail, they must be able to manufacture a million a day, if not more. So why on earth is there so much limited stock? It's beyond the joke.

Depending on your location, the new M2 cards may be very scarce. Also, since it's a new card, and only a few SE phones uses it, there's no need for sony to manufacture a huge amount, although they're the size of our nails.
Supply vs demand theory.

Well if you care for your cash. It always a good idea not to buy these storage things while they are still new because they cost a fortune. But the said thing is that few months the price tends to drop dramatically. In some cases it may drop by upto 50%.

No shortage in Australia, and prices high but not as over the top as I expected. Prices vary widely depending on retailer.
Between $120-160 Australian for 1GB. That's compared to about $60-100 for a 1GB MSDP.

a 500MB M2 costs about 40 USD in Amazon. I'm still waiting for a lower price to get 1GB. And I have a non-using 1GB MSPD in my drawer, a real bummer!

It was the UK that was giving me trouble, novatech, expansys, mymemory, etc all had none last week, thanks for that link though.
