20 castaways for
Survivor:Cook Islands will be grouped by race, with competitors divided into four tribes consisting of whites, blacks, Asians and Hispanics.
I think this is a terrible idea,we live in sensitive times as it is,and programmes like these, which a lot of children watch isn't really helping to bring down bounderies and incourage people to integrate with each other ...I just think in this case the producers;U.S channel CBS are only concerned with ratings/money and nothing else.

What happened to common sense? Racism to the extreme on
international television. By now you'd have thought that people could finally accept all races as equals, and no more use for segragation.

I really hope this craze for 'reality' TV shows dies a death soon, this sounds like another example of poor-taste TV with added racial overtones! I was hoping that was some kind of joke but it evidently isn't, I'm at a loss as to how this has been given the go ahead!
Problem is that reality TV shows tend to be cheap to make with high viewing audiences. If only they'd make more quality dramas and comedies instead - but that would involve money and people using their brains rather than cooking up awful drivel like this racist Survivor show!

i think some of us are over-reacting a tad. last season it was age and gender, the season before just gender, and nobody batted an eye.
the producers are merely using another point of difference to break up the groups, since random chance has produced some pretty uneven divisions in the past. it's also to see if any particular group (not ethnicity) has an inherent advantage over the others.
this whole "segregation" will only last about two eps, three at the outside, as the numbers drop - just as the age/gender split did last time. actually, they merged the four groups into two in the second episode last season.
so far it seems the splits based on ethnicity are actually highlighting the differences and individuality of group members rather than promoting stereotypes.
wait and see how it actually plays out before making judgements and casting accusations.

put arabs on the island.
You'd see them playing music, laughing and having fun.
