> m600i problems with sync manager

Hi all.
I'm new here and - as it seems to be the rule rather than the exception - a little frustrated with my new m600i. I use Outlook to manage emails, contacts, tasks etc. (NOT over an Exchange Server).
I am trying to sync Outlook with the m600i, but when I try to configure the sync manager, it will not allow me to select Outlook. It will not even show me that option - only Outlook Express - which I have never even started.
I installed DataViz Roadsync on the device, but that didn't lead anywhere. I have tried everything I can think of and still I cannot sync Outlook with my m600.
Can anyone point me to the right direction? What am I doing wrong? Do I need a (paid for) third party app to sync with Outlook?

I have exactly the same problem. No matter what I do I cannot get it to recognise that Outlook 2003 is installed, despite it being my default mail client. I have tried everything I can think of, including reinstalling Outlook.
In the end I gave up and have resorted to downloading and using Active Sync. This works flawlessly for me, but will obviously incur significant data charges from my provider (vodafone UK). Plus it is slow on GPRS (when out of 3G coverage).

Wow, I was just beginning to think that I was the only one with this problem. Thanks for the suggestion on ActiveSync. Unfortunately it's not an option because I spend a lot of time roaming and that's not part of my flat rate.
However, I'm sure that this is an issue that can be resolved - and I still have hopes that someone out there has at least a suggestion on what to do... All I want to to sync my contacts...

I had this problem recently when I installed Office 2003 on my system which has 2007. This problem then appeared.
I removed 2003, and removed and re-installed the PC sysnc software and all was ok.
have you ried a re-install of the application ?

Thanks for the tip. I removed Office 2003, also removed Copernic (my desktop search application since it links into Outlook. Not sure if it made any difference) Also removed the Sony Ericsson PC suite. Re-installed Office 2003 and immediately afterwards the PC suite.
Good news is that this time I did get the option to do the sync with MS Office !!! (and not onlt Outlook Express) And it works !

Anyone has problem with MS Outlook 2007 when you sync with m600i???
