I"ve followed instructions very carefully. Turned off firewall, installed the SEUS software, removed battery, etc etc and up to the point where I am asked to press "C" and connect the USB port. I press the internet key and plug the usb in and it tells me that the usb device is unrecognizatble and windows doesn't recovnize it. I've tried to reinstall the software, but nothing works, back to square one.
Can someone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Maybe you have the wrong drivers installed. This happened to me on my flatmate's Windozzze laptop, as I'd installed the wrong drivers for the phone. When I installed the correct Flash drivers, it still wouldn't recognise it so I have to use SEUS on my Mac using Virtual PC now!

After some time, I was able to get SEUS to start detecting my phone, but then it failed. It said to remove the phone and restart. I've done it 4x, it's the same thing,
