If you apply gentle force in the downward motion, you can actually disable some functions of this excellent telephone.

Yes.
This is what happens when the bad design is implemented.
I have actually mailed these photos to SE. Their joystic SUCKS!

Otherwise, not a bad phone...

No. I didn't drop it. I actually hit it few times with very large srewdriver, and then attempted to twist it to it's final death.

Don't worry. If your joystick didn't fail you yet, - IT WILL.
