I have a K750i which I've just replaced the screen on (Which I have for sale incidentally in the 'phones for sale section' - apologies for the plug!) which I noticed had something over the joystick when I had it apart!
It's a small rubber covering that's been slipped over the joystick. Is this there to try to improve the joystick's performance, or improve it's durability, or none of the above? The phone was made in wk16 of 2006 so it's a fairly recently made phone. It has what might be French firmware on it, as it only has French and English language packs on it, and a lot of the ringtones on the phone are different ones with French names on it.

I took my phone back to where I purchased it from recently to have the joy stick repaired, it's in a stae that requires excesive force for it to respod so if they replace the joystick and and put one of these over it then I think it would help just a little. the phone I'm talking about is a k750i btw.

Yes, I'm wondering if it's more like 'preventative maintenance', to help keep the joystick operational longer and perhaps prevent excessive strain on the mechanism so it lasts longer.
