Hi
I have searched extensively on both this forum and google, but still cannot connect to the internet on my laptop using my K800i on O2 payandgo.
Basically, what are the settings (asn, ip, user, pass etc. etc.) for my phone, laptop, and bluetooth?
I try connecting using the bluetooth modem, and the *99***1# number and it says connected, then disconnects from my phone saying something like "ppp connection error"...
is it a PAN fault?
Thanks
pecunia

I am not O2 (T-mobile) but I was having the same problem and it was driving me wild with frustration. Have you not rang O2 technical support? That was the only way I got mine working. Sorry for not helping much although the dial up number for me was *99#

You can make a PAN connection on your laptop by the bluetooth software on it.
Not all BT drivers know what PAN is, but most BT2.0 drivers do.
If you have older BT drivers like Widcomm 3.x or 4.x then PAN doesn't work.
With the newer 5.X drivers PAN is available.
Also most Toshiba drivers support PAN.
I don't know about IVT drivers but I think the newest do support PAN.
On the K800 you must choose a working data account under bluetooth internet settings.
Also choose a working data profile under Internet profile and if you have a Java browser under Java settings.
When you've got a BT2.0 stick then you can make a 3Mb/s connection to your K800.
Gprs and 3G will limit the speed you really get.

Just received reply from O2, and apparently Pay and Go sims don't allow "GPRS Mobile Web" - if that is what I need........
Are they correct? I can access the whole internet on my phone, just not on my pc, so i thought there was a problem with the bluetooth connection, rather than the Sim card.

If you can browse on your phone then it also should be possible to browse on your laptop, using PAN (bluetooth network) this must be easy because you don't need modem settings anymore.
When you have a PAN you need to edit some settings on your laptop, the PAN network isn't default open for all services like ftp and pop3.
The settings are similar to a normal network connection and you can get a network icon in your tray if you wish.

That looks like a secure connection, it won't work
If you get a working connection then be prepared for the phone wanting to connect to gprs/3G internet as it will be seen as another pc on your network
