I have a v600i and want to upgrade the firmware. I have installed both Update Service and the latest java runtime. The only thing that happens is that I get an error message saying "Missing JVM - Could not locate a Java Virtual Machine". I have tried different versions of java but I still get the error. I have read some posts here about this matter and the only solution I have seen so far is to try on another computer. I have, but the f*****g software still refuses to even start up. What can I do? Is it a fact that just some previeleged people can you use the update software and some not?

Okay, I finally managed to run the software. I connect the phone with a mini-usb cable to the slot at the side. The phone is found but I´m told that I already have the latest update. The firmware is R2K005 - is this really the latest? And if it´s not how do I install it?

@KungKrille if you don't experience any problems then you don't have to update the phone. If you do then search for the option to update although the latest fw is installed,so you actually reflash it. But as i said if there is no reason to update then why to update?
