> Help needed with K800i sync
Bookmark topic
Hi guys, I've a new K800i
Got it synced last week with all my contacts
today I've added loads more contacts to Outlook 2003 and 45 appointments
decided to sync with my phone, but when I try (this is only 2nd time I've ever done a sync with my K800i), the PC says:
Errors: 11 General, 98 contacts
Error Due To: 500 (it then lost "500" on a few lines underneath too)
while synching the phone says: Sending Failed Communication interrupted (but it does this every time after about 30 seconds)
it also sometimes says "session failed" instead of sending failed (the phone is sometimes sending, sometimes receiving when it happens
looking into it more, all the calendar dates have worked, it's just the contacts that haven't 90% of them)
tried restarting phone & PC, tried via USB & Bluetooth
am using the latest downloaded PC Suite
anyone any ideas?

can anyone help?
I've contacted SonyErisson, but they say that it's because I'm synching too much, especially the calendar (my whole calendar has 54 items in it, that's not a lot!), so I've put that down to 30 days either way, but the calendar always sync's fine, just can't seem to do the contacts, bluetooth or USB, it doesn't work, now get "Session Failed" on the K800i
please, please, please could someone help

Hi. Do you have a complete list of contacts on your phone or on outlook? If on your phone - try creating a new folder in the "contacts" menu in outlook - in the SE application - go to advanced settings and point to the new folder. Unclick all options for this trial run except "contacts" Also, ensure that the sync software is set to not change the contacts on your phone - (I forget the actual wording). See if this creates a full copy of your phone's contacts

cheers, tried that, but still got "Session failed" message on phone and on PC was "2 General Errors
Error due to: 500 - No Connection - Connection Lost with device"
tried USB & Bluetooth again
looking in the new folder in Outlook, it's coped 4 contacts across, but that's it (no matter how many times I do it, it's the same 4 contacts - I've tried deleting the 4th & 5th contact but it still only does 4 contacts and then says it's disconnected)

That's very strange. have you backed up the contacts on your K800i to the M2 memory stick? If so and you feel brave enough - try deleting all contacts on your phone - do a copy all from your default Outlook list and paste them to your new - then a full sync with your phone!! Try this with USB instead of BT.
@mmace, I have tried the settings myself using USB - clean transfer from phone to new outlook folder.
189 contacts, 306 numbers, Synchronisation completed successfully. Will try the other way around from Outlook to see if there are any problems -
