"Camera Dictionary" (Kamera Jiten), which translates English words into Japanese by simply scanning the mobile phone’s camera over the word.

"Camera Dictionary" is an application that uses the mobile phone camera as an input device to capture English words and instantly displays the translation results.
A normal electronic dictionary requires the user to use a keyboard as the input device but "Camera Dictionary" automatically recognizes words from images taken by the camera as it is scanned.
This instant form of input is faster and smoother while spelling mistakes are avoided.
The characters of a word are read by the camera and are matched to the dictionary database in real-time ensuring that dictionary lookup is both fast and accurate.
Also included is a client server facility where the user can access more detailed information such as explanations, examples, pronounciation sound files, etc from the main online dictionary, Sougoeigojiten.
