Hi all, i was just reading quickshare's recent topic requesting p990 user opinion. i'm finding the replies useful in helping me decide between the p990, m600 and w950.
although the m600 has been out for a while there doesn't seem to be much talk about it so i thought i'd copy quickshare's idea (hope he doesn't mind?) - i've even copies his questions!

so could all you lucky m600 users please answer these question below between..
a) Excellent
b) Average
c) Poor

1.The Battery Performance So Far?

2. The QWERTY keyboard Performance So Far and ease of use?

3. Call quality and cellullar Performace

4. Web Browsing and E-mail Performance So Far

Could you please take the time to write a short subjective conlusion and an overall mark out of ten

thanks for your time, i hope others find it usefull also

my observations are:

1) Average comapred to other smart phones.. I can easily get a full day with heavy usage out of it, or a couple of days if I'm not using heavily.
2) Excellent if you consider the space savings it offers, or I guess average if you are only interested in ease of use,.. but I certainly prefer it to the Nokia E61 I had before..
3) Average..I have no problems with it so far.. and inetrfaced easily to my BT carkit for excellent sound quality.
4) Web browsing okay,..email okay (i guess that shud be poor?) apart from the fact that I cannot get it to connect to my gmail account

1.Battery Performance

a- It's better then any smart phone that I've had

2.QWERTY keyboard

a- It takes a while to get used to but once u do it's pretty damn good

3. Call quality

a- for call quality. b- for features, the reason being that you can't look up address easily during a call, speaker option given only once a call connects, numbers inputted while in a call get erased when the call ends

4.) Web browsing & email

b- for web browsing. a- for email, it works flawlessly for gmail and pop retrieval

I would like to add the interface aspect of the device. What I don't like about the M600 is its user interface, it's somewhere between Palm OS Treo and other Windows Mobile gadgets, not that easy to use, but not that hard to use either. I thought the advent of UIQ 3 will be the age of true one hand operation from SE like Palm OS but there needs to be screen touching which is confusing, but it's quite okay, I give an average for the interface.

For the qwerty keyboard, I give an excellent rating. At first, it is quite difficult to type in anything, it is because my brain playing tricks that it is a multitap keypad (one button for two typeset), but once I started to look at the letters not the buttons, all seems so simple.

Battery drain is quite okay, yesterday I do a little crunch test on my M600 by playing music non stop for a whole day. It lasted for roughly 12 hours (with gsm radio on)... Not bad at all for something that is not meant to play music straight out of the box.

Call quality is okay, one thing that I don't like is that I can't set for the audio to be routed to external speaker when I start dialing, the recipient must answer the call first then the menu came up.

I previously owned a W800i and have been using the M600i(in white ) for the aslt 2months. Overall I prefer the M600 but I just wish it had a camera for those "quick spur of the moment photos"

1. Battery performance is quite awesome....music 2 hrs a day....net for about .5 to 1 hr. Calls about 3hrs-4hrs in total. Gaming another hour or so and the battry last me from 7am to about 10:30pm. I think the performance is slightly better than my W800i.

2. I absolutely love the QWERTY keypad dont think I can live wihtout it. Its just amazing and ingenious.

3. Call quality is just awesome. Speaker is loud and clear unlike the W800 but theres a bit more variation in netwrok signal when compared to my W800. The Network bars jump around a lot.

4. Web browsing was ok...I wasa'nt too impressed with it but it serves the purpose. I set up GMAIL to download e-mails every half an hour and that works brilliantly.

well you certainly can route the call to loudspeaker when the call is made. just move jog-dial and select more. then tranfer the call to loudspeaker. one cannot call it userfriendly but atleast one can route the call to speaker before the other party picks up the phone.

thanks for all the replies! didn't think there would be any phone that could tempt me away from the p990 after using the p900 and p910 - but this phone might be it.

keep up the good work my fellow estonians
