I want to upgrade my P910 but also want to run all my software, e.g. onforallsolitairs......love that program

Not possible at all. To elaberate what Johnex said,

all software would need to be re-coded to enable it to work on the M600/P990/W950 etc

It is mainly the new security feature they introduced in Symbian 9.1 that makes it necessary to recode software for it.
