Hi people,
When I received a call earlier today, and answered it, I couldn't hear the person who rang me. I thought it was a network issue so called them back, and again, I couldn't hear them. A quick exchange of text messages confirmed they could hear me.

I plugged in my handsfree, and could hear the other person. Also, switching to speakerphone meant I could hear the other person.

Has anyone encountered this problem? Any suggestions for what might fix it? I've tried turning off and removing the battery, but no joy.

Ted

I have noticed several yimes that the earphoneas are not registered as connected at all, even when the fastport plug is connected properly, and this happens both with the earplugs alone an when I connect a single ear plug throgh the car holder hch-60. It seems like the contact areas on the phone (and on the car holder) easily gets covered with dust or something thst causes the connectors to loose their proper contact. It works again for a while if I blow the contact area clean.

i had a w550 that had the same problem.. i had to press the left portion of the speaker grill to get it to work; seemed like some loose contact behind the grill. due to the swivelling mechanism, pushing and pulling on the handset is inevitable so sometimes i have to press on it several times before it works again. then for one whole week it seemed to work properly, at that point i sold it away and got meself a w810 BWAHAHAH

I have the exact same problem!! The earpiece wouldn't work but speaker and handsfree did. Took it back to the o2 store who sent it off for repair. Got it back 2 days ago and it worked but this evening the sound's gone again. Did the service tests and no sound at all so came on esato to find some help, and lo and behold! I pressed down on the speaker grille and now i have sound back again.

Think i'll hold back from giving o2 an earful (no pun intended) just yet, but i think it's going to have to go back and i'll push for a replacement this time.

Thanks for the advice!

Hey...just realised that the problem with the speaker generally (not always) happens when I try to redial a number after it fails to connect. Same happens when I try to dial a number form the "calls ' list. Seems to be a bug in the software...
Also noticed the white screen flashing sometimes for some milliseconds...
Will a future update solve these issues!!!??
