Hey all....
im looking at buying a renault megane... 1998 (S Reg), 1.4, 5 door... its red and going for around £750.... it also has 12 months MOT..
oh and the milage is about 80,000 - petrol
Can any of you wise people tell me what you think... is it a good deal??

when i buy a car i make sure it has fsh aswell ( full service history) all the previous MOTs and a few previous tax discs. also get it hpi checked before you buy and i think that sounds like a good deal to me. Make sure its not due a major service though and check how worn the tyres are etc

A car with that much mileage, you would need to be careful of such things as the gearbox, head gaskets particularly, if they go its gonna be expensive cause the engine usually needs dropping. I'd just be careful with high mileage cars...
£750 is still very cheap for 80,000miles and a 1.4, unless the general condition is quite crap...
Like I said, be careful.

teh general condition is suppost to be great - no rust, nothing... but im seeing it tomorrow so i dont know for sure....

If you can, try and do a HPI check, this tells you whther its been stolen, ever written off or has some sort of finance outstanding on it...

check the chasis and serial numbers (make sure they match) I have seeen cars chopped in 2 and then put back together again lol
