Hi. First of all I'd like to thank all the contributers to esato for making it such a wonderful resource to use for all my SE needs. I've used it for years but have never found a need to post, until now.

Now onto the question.

Can I use my SE K750 without a sim card?
At the current moment when I switch it on, it just says: "insert sim card" and then the only possible action is to switch it off. I remember the old phones of ye olde times used to run regardless if there was a sim or not, for example the SE p800. So then, is this 'feature' present on all k750 or is it only because I bought it 'locked' into the network provider? In which case, can I disable it without unlocking the phone, cos I'm a cheapo.

Not really the point of this topic but there is a patch to use flight mode and use everything but after everything has started.

Thanks.

Its rather lame that it requires a sim card! I might just have to dabble into the underground world of firmware patching and flashing . Its a phone thats out of contract so I may as well.

Be sure to look out for a thread requesting 'Help, my phone is broke!' in the near future.

Bye Bye

For the adventurous people out there

;W800 SW-R1BC002
;Work of phone without SIM cards
;It is works: Camera, Player, Radio, Organizer, IR-port...
;Does not work: java, browser, Bluetooth, Contacts, Activiti menu...

Switch of the startup menu on the w800. There is a R1CA version so if someone needs ; ill post that up.
