Hi, Im wondering if it would be a good idea to create a thread dedicated to the bad sellers on esato.

Bascailly anyone who has had a deal go south can post there, similar to the a-z of trusted this one has the user names of the baddies with neg feedback at the top of the page, but also it allows the victim to have a breif explanation of that the buyer/seller did wrong?

I say this as although the A-z is good for those who have possitive fb it doesnt allow buyers/sellers to easily find the reason behind a bad trade as there are so many posts you cant find the exact comment of the negative ref for the buyer/seller

My mainreason for starting this is because of the recent hang man thing, but I myself seem to have been scammed by a seller on here only the other day, and it seems to becoming more and more common

what do you guys think? suggestions and criticisms welcome

You can just look at a member's name in the A to Z list and see how much posiitive and negative feedback they have. A thread detailing the situation behind negative feedback might be difficult to maintain in an objective manner. People might start arguing over the exact circumstances and perhaps incomplete accounts of a situation would be available.

If someone has a lot of negative feedback in the A to Z, that should be a faily good indicator of how other members of Esato have regarded their transactions with that member. The same applies to positive feedback.

true, but I found out recently the a-z was useless

I bought someothing off someone with 10+ and am really pissed off they aint replying to return my pm's, they purposely misled me, etc

the a-z never deals with the reason behind the neg fb, for instance someone may get it for delayed posting, and other may get it for deception

and this is important to buyers if they choose to buy something off someone with neg fb

such a thread will only work if it consists of a single post per failed trade detailing the reason that a negative feedback was left, including the history of the trade with relevant links to the item thread in question.

i.e. it would be an extension of the a to z thread

if it is to be an open discussion about that trade, such as the hang_man one this week, then each main post that gave the reasons will be lost and there will be little additional benefit over simply leaving negative feedback as it will be just as difficult for members to find the info about that defaulting trader

the trusted trader does help thats where i look every time i do a deal but this person who just scammed me had a +feedback of 45 and -feedback of 2 i thought of given this person the benifit because of the high +feedbacks and the amount i trade with this was only £13 at the end of the day i got the short end of the stick.what can be done?

it should be restircted to only ppl involved in the "failed" trades can post

If it becomes a discussion area for the sales, then it will be hard for users to find what they are looking for!

I was giving this some more thought and one thing that struck me though is your comment...

and the thing is that no amount of threads will guard you against a bad deal gone wrong with someone who has 100% positive feedback

if this member had 10+ and 1- you might have questioned it and researched it a bit more looking for who left the negative in the a to z thread and asking them about it

so I guess to simplify that process this new thread suggested might speed up the process but I doubt it would have helped you in this case
