As I've seen it on CNN 3 days ago . . . there are some rumors going around that the 7-time F1 World Champion, Michael Schumacher is about to resign . . . The race tomorrow - Sunday at Monza, Italy will be a day to watch for . . . for F1 fans! Schumy's contract with Ferrari will expire this year so goes with Alonso's with Renault-Williams . . . it's been said that if Schumy will finally call it quits, Kimi Raikkonen 'might' just take his place with the Ferrari Team. Lets' just wait for the verdict tomorrow - Sunday!

I hope so too ! After been watching those F1 races for years . . . I just made notice that the 'make' of the car matters MOST, the driver on it just plays - second! Look at the case of Felipe Massa, not long ago before he transferred to Ferrari he got NO (or not much) Title to his credits . . . but after he starts driving the Ferrari car . . . he's making points ! I think he even place - 1st in one of the recent races

We just need new breeds in the F1 race - Alonso is to be considered one of those!

F1 is boring nowadays.Only during the days of the Schumacher-Hakkinen rivalry i found it great.

@deep - Oh yeah that's true ! However, I find the race moooore interesting 'everytime' someone beats Schumy in the race . . . just like this year . . . the top 1-2 finishers (over-all standing) has just been separated by a 12 point

margin . . . and there's just about 2 or 3 more races left! Surely that will be a nice 2006 finish . . .

But then again you have to look at the F1 rules. They have changed them all because Ferrari were simply TO GOOD.
They shouldnt change the rules because of that, Ferrari have worked extremely hard to get a strangle hold on the F1 series, now they take it away from them
i still say schui will stay another year or 2....

I think today its less racing and more of other things like pit stops, tyres, engines etc. Most races are won today not because of a classic overtaking maneuver to take the pole, but because of a well timed pitstop, engine failures of rivals, better tyre conditions and things like that.
The only 'rivalry' i see today in F1 is between the two tyre mfg's Bridgestone and Michelin, the drivers seem to care more about money than winning races-best example is Alonso-leaving the no.1 team Renault for an under performing Mclaren.

@ads - Oh yeah . . . and I just forgot all about the 'new' rules implemented this year . . . with that, Ferrari garnered 'less' top finishes . . . it favored - Renault

The final decision from Michael is unknown, but I do have a feeling he might stay on for just one more year...
It will officially be announced that Kimi Raikkonen will leave McLaren for Ferrari according to his manager, Flavio Briatore...
As a McLaren fan, I look forweard to the prospect of Alonso, but I think Raikkonen is making amistake in leaving... Also, even though everyone has has been impressed with de laRosa's performances, they might try and replace him to...
Cheers
