> How come SE has no phones with Wifi?

Well, yeah I know one of them or maybe 2 has it in the P series, but thats about it .... a total of at the most 2. On the other hand Nokia has got more than a couplein the N series, all save one in the E series, the 9 series have now got them.
In general, except for the models at the very bottom, every series have got them. Why does SE reserve it for the privileged few?

Maybe perhaps it makes them too expensive??. I would imagine sooner or later SE will bundle WIFI into most of their phones but i imagine its a cost issue ie would drive the cost of a handset through the roof.

Which phone do you want it in? The flagship model K800 isnt a smartphone and just a fashion phone.

well, I was eyeing the M600 and am quite disappointed.
As for costs, well, yes, there would be a price rise, but if one looks at the people rushing for the E61 just for its Wifi, I'm sure, SE would realise that there are ppl who look for the wifi feature. In fact, there are many who say they are disappointed the M600 does not have the Wifi and yet falls in the business class.
The touch screen and the wifi would have closed all options and put the E60/61 and even the E70 out of business.

It took years for SE to realise EDGE is also something that exists, Wifi is a little too much for them i guess .

well,, yeah sure we do, downloading songs on the go, without the guilt-trip of the gprs charges,, whoknows maybe one day an app that would allow us to use voip on the mobile?

There are many reasons why SE has chosen to wait.
1> The only major benefit to the consumer is from Tmobile (BOTH in Germany & the USA) with their WiFi network and the testing of UMA ... STILL not a proven effective technology implementation in the mass market. But it will get there. So revenue streams just arent there yet.
2> Normal phones only major benefit is through web-browsing and POP3/imap4 email.
3>waiting for 802.11n to be fully ratified as a complete standard is a smart-thin due to stable connects in most environments! Heavy building connections.
4> WiFi is feasable if home WiFi connections ARE abundant, the connections are stable at decent ranges (without the need for a -5ohms antenna), and cheap for consumers to use on their DSL/Cable modem connections. Here in Canada/US its pretty cheap - although our bandwidth cap currently at 7Mbps (which at $75CAN/mth is VERY expensive) comes nowhere close to France's 20Mbps bandwidth/customer.

Furthermore I'd like to see 3G for N/S American bands to be able to utilize this new front on Walkman 2.0 based cells.
