Well, the K800i has truly bedded itself down as possible the best cam phone on the market. So what next from those crazy dudes at SE? Well surely they must be working on there next cybershot cam phone. The obvious thing is to up the megapixel count (maybe 5 or more), but will they add an optical zoom? Lets hope so, it's the only real thing missing from the K800i.

@dcbastable: what do you prefer, optical or digital?

Well, optical gives sharper results than digital. Also, optical no longer means having a lens that sticks out a mile, just look at the newer slim digital cameras from sony, nikon, fuji etc...

5mp would be nice as long as it has a good quality sensor. 5mp and a poor sensor would be a waste of time.

Optical zoom would be my choice as digital zoom reduces the quality too much for me.

Your absolutely correct although I can't see the device being as compact as say a K750 or even perhaps a K800 when taking into consideration that you would have to fit a sensor, a prism depending on the design and lens and the cram in all of the phone hardware as well

True about the size, but optical would be a step in the right direction. By the why, i like the pictures that you have uploaded on the phone photos section.

Thanks very much

Completely agree with the optical zoom. Earlier this year I left my old 2mp digicam at home and used my w800 for all my holiday snaps. It did a pretty good job but one thing I really felt it needed was optical zoom.

I now have a great digicam and am very happy with my w800, so I'm in no hurry to change my phone as this present time. I am going to wait and see what is around the corner.
