Sorry to beat this into the ground, but after scanning the thread for this topic, it seems like some people still have a problem with the font not being consistent within the menus and the phonebook listings, etc. Is this true, or is there any way to put a version on the phone to correct this? I used to have this phone (I guess with an older version) and never had any problems, but after it was stolen, I have tried 5-6 t39m phones (obviously with the newest software version) that have this font inconsistency. Can anyone help or suggest something that I can do. I am in the Manhattan, NY area (noticed some people went to SMARTNET -- any equivalent over here?)
Thanks!

Hello Cyberloki7,
You must have the Asia-Latin firmware on your phone. That has Chinese characters included which corresponds to the uneven font size.
Go to a nearby Sony Ericsson service center and have a European R4A008 installed. I had that problem before and the firmware change solved the problem.
By the way, do let me know when the SE HPR-20 FM Handsfree becomes available in your area. I need to get hold of that! Thanks.

Well, the problem is, I already have that version installed. And regarding the font size, it's the fact that the phonebook displays medium font at all times, even when 'small' is chosen as the text display (i.e. appears ok in the menus)

Yes, the R4A version that you have is the Asian-Latin. Have it changed to R4A-European.

or make a software downgrade... I have R2M and it is quite good. I do not know if software downgrades are possible...

It depends on the service center. Here in the Philippines older versions are no longer available.
