Stereo widening is a fake way of trying to get stereo sounding.. sound.. through mono speakers.
It doesnt work IMO.

No,it has nothing to do with the speakers,because it works with the in ear stereo headset. Stereo widening "raises" the stereo effect. My w600 has it,and when I bought my w810 I was really disappointed it doesnt,but yesterday on a review of the w810 I saw a picture of the menu of the w810 mp3 player where there was! stereo widening!
