Hi Guys,

What do you think about the built-in Email Client? Is that good enough? Anybody purchase 3rd parties Email Client?

Thanks.

no need for 3 rd party app! the built in e-mail client works like a charm! I use gmail and after I installed the security certificate there is no need to press yes every time you check your mail so you can use the schedule dwld function as you please. I really don't see the reason to buy another app

I'm afraid I have to disagree. At least in the present firmware, the client is bad. It is not badly designed but slow and buggy. Buggy in the sense that I have to kill it and reload all the time. Typically, I poll my 4 IMAP accounts (because idle does not really work) read my email, delete some and leave it so. It never downloads automatically according to shcedule because after the first session, it gives various errors which will only be cured by relaunch.

For the third parties apps I've tried, alwayson mail works fine except it is so aggressive in maintaining a push connection that it prevents me from receiving voice calls...

And anyway, those apps are modules integrated in the built in client, so the main UI is always the same. Which is not bad.

I'm pretty sure the problem comes when you have many accounts on one side and use IMAP on the other. Could also be server related as all my accounts are with the same ISP, but I doubt it.

DataViz RoadSync (ActiveSync) for Exchange mail is free, fairly intuitive, and reliable. If you don't have an Exchange account, a free one can be obtained at mail2web.com

I haven't tried the Blackberry Connect, but have read people seem to like it.

My M600i used to prevent me from receiving incoming calls when GPRS was active, until I changed the connection type from (I think) PS only to Automatic. Now when I get a voice call it just interrupts the GPRS.

Actually, it's great! As good as the P910i I had before. I have a yahoo uk account which works like a treat with POP 3. Yesterday, I had 13 e-mails, some of them about 2 MB each and everything went smoth, downloads and everything. So it's a trustworthy, dontcha worry, works flawlessly.

The email client is excellent, at east when using pop accounts, not a single problem to date.
