Well, the ideea is quite simple!

1. I bought a T65 few months ago - Made in Malaysia.

Software version R3B004 (or something like that)
I went to the service with it to flash the last SW version, at that time R4A
The resets continued (mm.. now that I think, it might have not reseted so often at the begining) - me was not using Wap nor GPRS and I went again with it to flash the last SW version R5A010
Unfortunately... the latest software version didn't fix the resets, they even got more frequent, so I took it to "the doctor" again.. this time I left it there for 3-4 days... When I came after it, I found out that they found interrupts on the mainboard and they corrected them unsing I don't know what thermal method. If it resets again I have to go to shop where I bought it and ask for a replacement. (I believe they flashed again the same SW version.. not sure) - oh.. forgot.. after the first/second SW upgrade.. I did master reset so I make sure it works... it had some T9 problems before the reset
And, finally... it reseted again.. so I went to change it. The ones in the shop took it and got it in service (:se: service). I went back to get it, I thought they will replace it (last reset I had was after few seconds of talking). Instead of replacing it, they said they "repaired" it... software upgrade + reset. Guess what.. SW R5A010 (same as before) + reset. Nothing new... I didn't even get to leave the shop, I entered the PIN, the Phone Lock Code, and as I was pushing the door of the shop it reset AGAIN!
They agreed to replace it... (I'll skip over some incredible shop organisation details)... and...

2. I went to a supermarket where this shop had one of it's headquarters to pick my new T65 - Made in China - SW R5A010

I was extremely glad this one had the latest version already flashed and I started configuring it while I was shopping with my dad in the supermarked
Surprise... I got to block the T65 (the screen = black/blank) 5-6 times in one hour... I absolutely got borred.. I couldn't imagine how this was possible. Not to mention the parasites that remained on the screen while I was scrooling through the menus - it was like a stupid refresh.. very stupid refresh. And I also did a master reset, even if it was clear... because it was new.

Now.. I have to mention that the 2 T65s also got blocked/reseted in front of the salesman to proove that they don't work.

After a stupid argue with the last salesman (actually it was a woman) I got to buy some unestetic Alcatel 311 - I don't like it.. I couldn't pay for something better - I hate Nokia since they're BIG and they lack functions - I like 6510.. but it's expensive - if I'd had money I would have bought t39m... even if I don't like the flip.

The conclusion is that after yesterday, I got to leave the last shop with money in my pocket and with a stupid Alcatel 311 - actually not so stupid.. but it's not well organised, orange screen.. yuck. And if I think.. it was one of the best cheap models there.

Question: Are all the T65 series somehow altered by.. some fabrication error.. or something. I know that nobody will say: "yes, the t65 series are " but at least I want to know how to look for a mobile that works. I know there are some T65 that work, but I'm not sure if the users use them as I did - I mean appointments+tasks+e-mail+profiles+etc... You might not notice that you have a misfunctioning t65 until you fully test it. I personally won't boy any mobile made in China or Malaysia. The China models die in 1hour... while the Malaysia models die harder, but die surely.

Btw, where else are the T65 produced? I am from Romania, which is somewhere close to the Center of Europe. Isn't T65 produced in Europe too? Or, is Romania a dumping place for the non working mobiles - or, let's say, not so well working mobiles?

I'm thinking to get a T68i now... I don't really enjoy the T39m... especially the flip. The question is.. who guarantees me that (besides looking at the origin country).. that mobile won't inherit T65 bugs (hardware/software)? it seems like nokia has some mobiles comparable with but has that great battery meter... which was really precise. Now that I'm thinking.. how could T65 stay in standby for 280h since it mentioned after a full recharge only 180-190h? Btw, I had Li-Ion battery and I don't know why it is mentioned to have Li-Polymer in some places.

P.S. forgot to mention that my SIM works well on other mobiles, but I'll take it to the service also... just for a quick check. - actually.. the phone can't show parasites on the screen.. or block while configuring without using the SIM.

[I'm not sure this topic fits well in this category, but I've noticed that this is where topics about bugs/resets/block are posted]

And the posts with the Calendar not bolding the right days even in R5A10 are true. I gave up checking how the Calendar works. Let's say this is a complex part of the T65. I just tried to modify the profiles. It blocked while I was renaming (typing) a profile - this is one example.

Now, question: as I can see in the latest posts, why is everybody complaining about the T65? And this time, Cytech (because I see you are really on the subject) doesn't work the 'try to do a master reset'. Sometimes it works.. but NOT always.

maybe I remember something more... later...
this post could have stayed in General too.. now that I think...

Mmm.. I see nobody replied. No problem.

Short question: has anybody ever used a T65 for a period of time (let's say... a week) WITHOUT having problems with it? (bugs/reboots)

If so, I'm very curios to know where is that mobile made in, what SW version it has, how long has the person used it.. and HOW did he/she manage to keep it working all the time!

Thank you

I used a T65 for a time, had some problems in the beginning of that it complained about low battery when it was fully charged... but other than that it worked fine... but... this phone had sw R2B and no settings on the phone were changed so it was used with factory settings all the time... used it for a couple of weeks and it worked fine.

and a friend of mine has used a T65 since mars... she is very satisfied with it... she has no problems with it... the only thing she doesn't use in the phone is the WAP service...

so there are T65 which does work with out any problems

mm... so.. let's say that all the T65s work when they come from the factory with R2B preinstalled. So... why does release new versions? Isn't this because the old version has bugs or something? .

Well, I believe that the users who don't fully use a mobile's functions can't say if it has problems or not - they only care about the outside, the beautiful screen etc.

Do you think I would've been able to block that T65 5-6 times in one hour, if I had no ideea about what it is able to do?

Anyway, I still think it might have something to do with the originating country. What would you buy? An Asian or an European mobile?

P.S. I didn't use WAP either.. but still my mobile rebooted/blocked - I used the Data Accounts thought, to get my mail

I doubt it has anything to do with where it's manufactured....

there are two main problems with T65 causing it to hang/reboot... collision in the phone settings (which is solved by doing a master reset)... the other one is a problem with the sim reader...

Tell this to the ones at service.
They would have repaired it by now!

I've been using T65 for more than a month now in Malaysia and it works fine! I don't think it has anything to do with the phone manufacturing origin but I think it is mere luck whether you land on a good or bad phone.

The only problem (so called) with T65 that I could not tolerate it the stdby hrs & tlk hrs. Even though I've learnt lots of solution/tricks out of the issues discussed in Esato...still the battery stdby/talk time issue persist, but I decided to remain with it and observe it in long run. Even the technical personnel from SE in M'sia explains to me that I should be lucky to get about 170 stdby hrs apart from other factors that governs the phone's battery consumption!!! He also advised to remain with the existing SW if it does not give you any problem but if your T^65 have problem, upgrading the SW to solve the problem will make the phone susceptible to other problems......thus, it is always a risk in upgrading the SW for t65.

Since my bro has T65 and its R3b software, and he's been saying that the phone is slow and it did restart sometimes, would upgrade to R5a improves the menu speed and T9 speed ?? Is it noticeable?? Also, as some people say that if its not much problem, there no real need to upgrade to r5a as it may create another problems, so what's people with R5a on T65 think about this software and any problems occur???
