Has anyone else noticed inconsistencies with synchronizing Outlook notes (both “free standing” notes and notes associated with calendar entries)? I’ve been trouble shooting this for a couple of weeks now, since I received my p990i, and I haven’t figured out the exact issue but the symptoms are as follows:

PC > p990
All detail associated with my calendar entries (times, dates, subjects, etc.) sync fine, except notes. The notes sync for some entries and don’t sync for others.

P990 > PC
All detail associated with my calendar entries (times, dates, subjects, etc.) for items that exists in the p990 and not yet in Outlook sync fine, except notes. In this case, the notes don’t sync and in most cases they are deleted from the p990.

Also, I have noticed a similar issue with regular “free standing” Outlook notes (not associated with the calendar), regardless of the sync direction.
Other than this very strange issue I have been very happy with the phone; and I have to admit that I’m running the Office 2007 beta so I’m not even sure that this problem is 100% attributed to the p990. I’ve successfully updated the firmware twice, I don’t use many of the multimedia features, so I haven’t experienced a lot of the problems that other people have described.

make sure you've applied all the service packs and hot fixes for your OS and updates for you version of Outlook (2002 or 2003)

I've been pulling my hair out over exactly the same problem as you - P990 with Outlook 2007. I think I have figured it out - sort of.
It's definitely an Outlook 2007 issue. I uninstalled 2007 and went back to 2003 - things seem to be working fine now, with all my notes sync-ing properly.
However, the notes I wrote on 2007, still don't go across to the P990 even with 2003, so there is something different about the way Outlook 2007 handles notes. Once I open the 2007 note in 2003, and edit it, it seems to sync fine........
I presume there will be a fix from SE once 2007 is released. Until then, I'm sticking to Office 2003.

I've just seen your topic. I have exactly the same problem with attached notes. What gets me is that it is seemingly random. A Task with an added note can happily go through several syncs each way and then lose the note on the latest sync.

I also use Office2007 beta so as you say, it may well be a fault of that.

In the meantime, I make sure important notes are stored elsewhere so it is annoying rather than disasterous.
