So I bought a k800 today and brought it home, but it seems to be missing the memory card. Is this meant to be like that and do I have to buy my own or did I get ripped off on my purchase?

You didn't get ripped off, unless the seller mentioned a memory card. Normally, the K800i doesn't come with a memory card.
Some providers include one though.

@nhs - Here at my end, most of the stores that I see which selld the K800 does NOT have the external memory card . . . it's NOT included. Now, check the price you've paid for for your K800 . . . if the price says that the memory card SHOULD have been INCLUDED with the package then you've been ripped off mate . . . check out the store (again) where you got it. Good Luck!
