> Access M600i status bar menu

You know that little menu tucked away in the top left hand corner of the phone. It's actually very useful but is virtually the only thing that I can't access using my thumb on the touch-screen.
Is there anyone out there who knows enough about Symbian to write a shoet application that will launch that menu? Then I could put it on one of the Activity Menu keys and access it easily.
Even better, can it be customised in any way?
