I'm looking to buy a P990i this week and I was wondering what the best insurence company for mobile phones are?

My insurence company only insures mobiles upto £150 and I'm not sure I can class a smartphone as a PDA for the Personal Computer cover.

Any suggestions?

Best advice is to buy only from a network shop and take there insurance! There's 2 reasons for this... 1. Any come back can be done through the operators own store so you've got 2 face to deal with and not a call centre muppet. 2. Generally speaking they have an agreement with there recommended insurance company to provide policies for data devices which nearly every independant company will not cover (including cover through home contents and high street banks e.g Barclays and Lloyds)! Hope this helps.

The problem with that is that I will be buying the P990i sim free and Carphone warehouse has it listed in their latest catalogue at £799.97, way out of Expansys £539. So Expansys it is you see.

Ah, you have a dilemma then-as your really gonna struggle to find anyone who will insure you-especially as most insurance companies insist on seeing the device before they insure!

Home insurance might be able to cover it, ring up and they generally insure goods upto £1000 without having to see the item first.

My contents insurence is with Endsleigh (Student Possessions) and you can only insure mobiles upto a value of £150. However if I could pass the P990i off as a PDA then I could insure it under "Personal computer Cover". However a smartphone is not a PDA.. .

Any other suggestions for mobile phone insurence cover?

Think Coxy is referin to Liverpool Victoria insurance....i know they provide decent cover for gadgets through there home contents but not sure about independant policies for gadgets! Take into account home contents policies have high excesses and they bump your premiums up pretty high the following year if you claim!
