Yes it can be done and isnt too bad. Stripped down version of Walkman player 1. Although a major thing for me was the unavailability of scrolling through a playlist while the music is playing by pressing down or up. But even so it is not bad and I used mine for month or so like this.

I'm using a K610 as a MP3 player (the same as in the K800). I'm perfectly well with it. I had a W810 for a short while and I'm not missing anything. Ok - I'm the "random-play only" type, so that's all I need...

um, actually you can scroll through music while it's playing - but you must use the media player and not file manager to be able to do so.

No I mean when you are playing a song and you are on the now playing screen you cannot go up and down in the playlist like you can on the walkmans.

Coxy is right, you cant scroll through tracks while listening to the mp3 player.

Anyways i use my k800i to listen to my mp3s with my hbh se 970 bt headset and it works brilliantly. Nice crystal clear sound with a nice bass line i find, much better than the p990i that i have.

Only one thing i find abit annoying is that i have a playlist setup and usually play that but it seems like the k800i or maybe its my headset that has problems playing the full playlist. What i mean is that it will play 5-6 ttracks then stop even though i have the playlist on repeat...kinda strange...thought maybe its my playlist thats corrupt but i re-did it and it does the same thing....anyone else find this with their k800i...btw still on the very first firmware...dont know if there is a new firmware out yet although i heard rumours about one being released very soon.

You can currently get the new firmware from wotanserver or on SEtool. It also updates bluetooth so that track names appear on the sccreen for the ds970 too. I never noticed this problem, but I assume it is a problem with the phone and headset combo if it repeats with the wired handsfree. However maybe the phone is the problem as that sends the data to the headset so you would have thought it would tell it to repeat. Maybe try the new firmware and see what happens?
