Actually mate, batteries have electronic circuitry and micro-processors - so they certainly can have bugs....

Yes, max_wedge, battery has bugs. And BUTTER has bugs, too (look at the title of this thread ).

BTW, you can check out the "battery bug" thread in se-nse and get a pesticide there.

Cheers.

I don't think there are any electronics in the battery for a K750/w800. I know some batteries for other devices may have electronics but most Phone batteries don't. The electronics are all built into the phone. i.e. All the phone needs to do is probe the batteries voltage and resistance. I have pulled apart Batteries from a K508, a K300 and a Motorola L6. Not one of them had any electronics in them. They are nothing more than chemicals wrapped in insulation with electrodes inserted. So, if there is a battery bug it will be with the phone. I know, some will start rattling off about battery not charging above 97/98%. I've noticed that. But, I have also noticed that sometimes the charge reaches 100%. I almost wonder if battery stops charging once it hits 100% and doesn't charge again until the battery drops below a certain point. The one thing I have noticed is that I am more likely to get 100% after a short charge period. Think about it - if the battery was constantly charging it would explode.

Actually, I don't feel there's a battery bug at all. My phone always charges to 100%. So, when I read the battery bug thread in se-nse, I have no clue what the bug is. So, I never try the patch there. People need to be a bit cautious about this particular patch. It actually alters the GDFS (unlike many other patches which rewrite something in MAIN only). I am not a programmer, I don't know what the patch actually does. Hopefully, it doesn't force the phone to continue to charge even when it's almost full. It may work well initially, but in the long run, don't know whether it will cause any harm or damage to the phone.

Trust me there is. My battery runs down much slower now and when the phone is charged ; it says fully charged. Anyway that patch was from the_laser who is an expert in modding.

Exactly the same here, it is more likely to get 100% charge after a short charging period. Thats why I also beleive that battery stops charging once it hits 100% and doesn't charge again until the battery drops below a certain point.
*BUT I have also noticed the following: I bought a spare battery BST-37 this one was marked R1A, the one that came with the phone was R1B. Guess what? The R1A always charges to 100%.
Check my previous post about different revisions of BST-37 batteries: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=117542#post1598795
Anyway I later applied the charging patch by -the laser- and now both charge to 100%
