EBay is being hit with a lawsuit in a Paris court by designer-good company LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton, which alleges that eBay doesn’t do enough to restrict the sale of counterfeit goods on the site.
LVMH’s Louis Vuitton is claiming €20million while Dior Couture wants a further €17million in damages for fakes sold between 2001 and 2005. The company’s research apparently discovered that 90 percent of items sold under its labels on the site are fake.

Good . Its about time that more was done to stop counterfeit goods from being sold. Also hope Ebay lose the suit.

Im happy about this myself....ebay is making far too much money and not doing enough to tackle such crimes.
ebay needs to re-organise itself if it wants to continue.

fully agree! the sales on Ebay is not under control.. expecially for those expensive accessories.. i can confirm that most of the people are willing to buy those cloned stuff instead of the original one.. and therefore the original company fail to reach the profits sales of the yearly target.. nice move LV!

Yep. I agree with you guys...
Ebay is a mess right now.
You don't know who you can or can't trust.
You never really know what you're buying. Neither you know to whom you're selling.
Somehow ebay needs to make their business trustworthy and get a way of kicking out scammers.

The buyers are sometimes their own worst enemies. They see something at a tenth of what the price should be, buy it and then complain afterwards it is fake.
These fake sales can be reported and ebay eventually remove them. Unless you are a Power Seller or a Chinese scammer then you get left alone. They'd lose too much money in fees otherwise.
I have never been scammed on ebay yet but you have to be so careful and do your research. You still see mugs bidding for things like 50 brand new phones for £55, the seller has the obligatory 10 feedback all gathered within about one and a half minutes and lives in Tobermorey, Beijing. Who is more the fool??
