Hi all, i just created a new channel on irc called "esato". For those that don't know what irc is, it is like a chat. You connect to a server and join a channel. I have created an irc channel so that people on web AND on wap can talk to eachother. This can't be done with website based ones, as they use javascript and other stuff not supported on all phones.
Requirements:
- An irc client. For web i suggest Mirc (http://www.mirc.com/) (Application)
or PJirc (http://www.pjirc.com/demo.php) (Web based, requires more knowledge of irc)
For wap i suggest Jmirc (http://jmirc.sourceforge.net/index.html)
If you want to join the chat, open the irc client and set your nick, server (irc.quakenet.org) and channel (#esato) in the settings.
I will be the owner of the channel (like admin) and higher members here can request op status from me (moderator) whenever they like.
Some usefull commands:
/server SERVERNAME - Connect to the server SERVERNAME
/join CHANNEL - Connect to a channel called CHANNEL
/nick YOURNICK - Changes your current nickname to YOURNICK

Well yes @Jagger... what john meant was that the gabber chat is not accessible from a phone...
There are irc clients available for smartphones these days... i use wIRC.
EDIT: Sorry @arez, dint notice you were online on IRC...

well we managed to talk a bit after that. cmon esatonians lets use the chanel! later i will log again
besides pc apps, jlirc is great, works in almos every se phone (great on p990)
