Rite,
Im due for an upgrade on the 29th September, and as you know im looking for quite an advance phone that will last me for another year or so.

At the moment, it is between 3 Nokia N Series, N73, N80 and N93.

Unfortunately the N93 is still not out in local shops, so it might just be between the first 2. But what i am looking for is something that is worthwhile, and is handy in school, i.e. listening to music.

In my view the only upside to the N80 is the WLAN, now this maybe a problem, but i need other posters views on how it copes with it, and if they use it alot, plus i need to know what other advantages it has over the other 2 N series.

I suppose what i am trying to say is I need opinions on these 3 phones and which is best for keeping someone entertained, with richly filled features.

My choice is N73 at the moment, simply because large screen, stereo speakers 3.2 mp carl zeiss cam. I need to know how the N80 beats this and so for the N93.

I have searched the forums before anyone tells me too, and they have given some help but not what i am looking for, they tell me very vaguely, i need experience and opinions.

Awaiting your replies,
pow

I have owned the n80..and is was fantastic..with one exception..the battery life is very poor...it has more than an "upside" as you stated...

In my experience, doing a little research and actually using the phones themselves is the best way to go...cpw do have the n93, n80, and the n73, so go have a play...read review's and then take the plunge..viewing the spec's will help also...

taking advice off a sonyericsson forum is perhap's, not the best way forward simply because se is much prefered..obviously...thats not to assume everybody is down on nokia, but, well, if you read some of the thread's, there are alot of childish remarks towards nokia in general....one person's experience of say, the n73, won't necessarily be your experience of the handset for example....i also own the n73, in addtion to the k800i, and i find it to be a superb device, but as ive said, use it yourself (and the other's).

there's no substitute for actual experiencing the feel of a handset yourself.

@pow....

I've had the N73 now for a few months (as i've been testing one for Nokia as part of their test pilot scheme) and its never crashed once at all!

I've got a prog called vNes which enables me to play every Nintendo NES game on ma phone! (only takes up about 125Mb of space as well! and thats with over 900 games!)

As i dont use the phone for internet (i use my N93 which is amazin as well but not as slim an light as the N73) i dont miss the wifi one bit! Battery life is amazin and quality of the build of phone is great as well!

Now I don't doubt one word of what everyone else has said, but I have every one of the mentioned handsets, N70, N73, N91, N93, and I must say the N73 has been, stability wise, the worst of all, by a LONG way.

I returned the first one after 3 days as it constantly crashed and re booted itself (it was a generic UK SIM free handset)

The replacement was exactly the same, and eventually it was replaced and the third one has been a little better. I began to suspect that it was possibly O2 causing the problems, but I tried it with Voda and it was the same.

I guess that a software update will sort things out.

The N93 if you can get it, is the most awesome phone I have owned in a while, slightly bulky but so so good.

As others have said, best thing to do is get your mitts on all of them and have a play, everyone has different opinions of what they like.

regards

David

As far as stability is concerned, I think all sets are amazing. I own a N71, which runs on the same OS as the others, and it hasnt crashed since i owned it.

like I said, I don't doubt many have very stable software, but, certainly from my experience, the N73's I have had have been terrible stability wise, which is strange considering the N70, N91 and N93 are all excellent in that respect

@floatlite...

It sounds as if u have had a bad batch or something as the one i have is a pre-production version and even when it had pre-release firmware it never rebooted once or froze on me... And now with the latest firmware (same as all retail models) it still hasnt frozen and thats with a lot of use (about £300 a month bills!)
