wondering how to close music player completely?
if I press "stop" then minimize the player, is it enough?
concern is, even if it's minimized and music is stopped, isn't the music player app still sitting in the background and occupying phone memory?
How do I make it completely closed and out of phone memory?

W810 isn't a smartphone. The app is either running or it isn't. Unless music is coming out of the speakers, it's not consuming memory, and even then the affect on main memory is small (it uses it's own audio chip for playing music).
But to answer your question, if you can't see the walkman on the dislplay and no music is playing, you can be sure the app is fully closed
