so lets discuss or argue whether nokia can do it

donno...for me...seem like Nokia lack something in offering music.

of course they are doing a fast catch up now with all the acquisation of online music site etc....

to me...just seem a bit like nokia not having a wide range of low to mid range music centric phone to do the job.

in the end I only hope all this fight didn't force music user having a problem....they can't transfer the mp3 they bought to phone using different management system. Tht's bad.

Considering Nokia has no background eperience with music, and considering sony has a history of music with them, which dates back to the 80's, I think Nokia are doing a brilliant job and they will catch up with them soon.
Also, SE concentrates on only music on their W phones, where as Nokia concentrates on the overall phone.

Indeed, positions between nokia and se have interchanged it seems (including renaming, although nokia still continue that tradition).

N91 is currently the best music phone around (according to se-biased m-r). SE music phones has already been super-seeded by nokia for some time already.

@Mib1800 Absolute bollocks! Walkman phones are already the established benchmark musicphones. They have better presence, greater heritage and they are the ones to beat. The N Series efforts just aren't cool.

Now we'll have the W800 is a K750 argument. So before we do we'll mention the W850 and W900i to nip that one in the bud. :-)

QVGA

what i mean music centric phone is phone tht having all the dedicated UI or Man Machine Interface for music function.

Not all Nokia phone have tht.....if you refer all Nokia phone can do music playback...then all SE phone tht is out since 2005 also can do that.

However what I started off is referring walkman phone with all the music centric phone Nokia is pushing. This include Monday's new product.

Sorry....just notice Nokia is calling their music centric phone as

XpressMusic.

SO what I am referring to is XpressMusic vs Walkman

@MIB

my only comment on N91....they should try to move to solid state memory.

As N91 is already a highend phone...putting in solid state might not hurt the potential buyer's wallet much since the phone not meant to be cheap.

The only sad part for N91 is Microsoft screw up the phone's launching date...and yup it does have something walkman phone will really need to add....support of WMA. If more Nokia music centric phone is getting WMA support all the way down to Nokia low- mid range phone (xpressMusic)....SE Walkman will under pressure again since WMA is gaining popularity beside MP3 and AAC.

Sony made a big mistake in pushing for Atrac and ignoring MP3....hope SE don't repeat the same thing.

Anyway Eventually Nokia will be the leader coz....one quarter of Nokia sales volume is equal to one whole year volume sales of SE

Now just another interesting part...How do Motorola and Samsung look into music centric device.....they still didn't planned much on pure music centric devices.....Moto does have Rokr series but they seem to be not keen in moving in big time
